Charleston Tea Plantation

Andrew Pinckney Inn is a beautiful historic Charleston hotel.  It is a great place to stay when visiting Charleston, because of all the affordable prices and location.  The hotel is nearby many Charleston attractions, entertainment, and dining.  A great place to check out is the Charleston Tea Plantation.  It is a terrific attraction to see when taking a girls weekend.  There is over 127 acres of land to explore and see all of the beautiful sites.

The Charleston Tea Plantation all began in the 1700′s.  Nearly over the next 150 years there were attempts to produce tea for consumption, however there was no success.  It wasn;t until Dr. Charles Shepard came along in 1888.  Up until his death 45 years later, tea plants grew wild.  In later years, William Barclay Hall, purchased the land.  He was a tea tester during a 4 year apprenticeship in London, with much experience.  With Hall around the Charleston Tea Plantation became home of American Classic Tea, 100% grown in America.

Today there are many tours offered at the plantation.  There are even informative exhibits on how to make tea first-hand.  Check out the factory tour, and the trolley ride tour around the tea fields.  Drink all of the iced tea you want while on the tour.  Afterwards be sure to check out the unique plantation gift shoppe and take something home to remember the day.  Find many teapots and other accessories.  Overall, this is a fun filled day and a chance to learn something new.  It is a unique experience and a huge part of Charleston history.

If you are interested in the tour be sure to check in with Andrew Pinckney Inn and get more information.  Also, call today about all of the great specials and packages offered at the hotel.  There are many ways to make your Charleston get away the best one yet.
